Beverage and Barista (NZQA Approved)

 

The aim of the training scheme is to enable students to develop skills required in a commercial environment and produce and serve a range of hot and cold beverages including barista coffees confidently and to industry standard.

Brittain’s 2005 Limited has been granted approval by NZQA under section 251 of the Education Act 1989 to provide the Beverage and Barista (Training Scheme).

Our work with Secondary Schools

Lifelong Choices offer a range of level 2 Unit Standards in areas such as:

LLC Cafe Barista (20 hour course - 1 term)

LLC Contemporary New Zealand Food and Beverage Service (40 hour course - 1 term)

LLC Practical Cookery (45 hour course)

LLC Kitchen Culinary (Option A - 40 hour course - 1 term and Option B - 40 hour course over 1 term)

(While these are not NZQA Approved course, Brittains Lifelong Choices holds all relevant consents to assess in an unapproved course).

Brittains Lifelong Choices are able to teach a range of level 1 and level 2 Service IQ unit standards. By co-operatively working with secondary schools we are able to achieve specific curriculum delivery and assessment strategies that best meet student's individual learnng requirements that work for your students and your school.

Our work with Supported Cookery

These courses are designed to build confidence and teach practical kitchen skills to young people needing a little extra learning and physical support. Brittains partners with Taranaki Secondary Schools to deliver a range of confidence building training initiatives that combine cooking, nutrition, food and kitchen safety, teamwork, coordination and communication. Our work with Service IQ

Brittains Lifelong Choices facilitates and coordinates a range of popular Service IQ Customer Service Award Training throughout the Taranaki region. The Gateway Service based training and development includes; Red Shirts in Schools, the Z Forecourt Concierge Certificate, and the Countdown Seeds Programme.
